World Heritage Centre

Bath’s brand new World Heritage Centre as part of the Archway Project will open later in 2021 in the heart of the City Centre. It will be free and accessible to all.

The World Heritage Centre will be filled with imaginative interpretation that will show people why Bath is so special and inspire them to go out and explore the amazing City of Bath World Heritage Site.

Visitors will be able to discover more about Bath’s attributes of Outstanding Universal Value: the hot springs, Roman remains, Georgian architecture, Georgian town planning, the social setting of the Georgian spa town and the city’s natural landscape setting.

The World Heritage Centre will be the first space dedicated to explaining and interpreting the World Heritage Site for local people and visitors to Bath.

It will highlight the uniqueness of Bath and equip people to go out and explore Bath’s exceptional historic sites, promoting greater understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the city’s internationally significant heritage.

We are looking for volunteers to welcome and offer guidance to visitors to the World Heritage Centre.  Find out more about this volunteering opportunity and view the application details
