UK World Heritage Sites vary considerably in their make up. In Bath, World Heritage is principally co-ordinated by Bath & North East Somerset Council. A dedicated manager, employed by the Council, has responsibilities for producing and implementing a management plan for the site. This officer also liaises with other World Heritage Sites to exchange information, learn from the practice of others, and represent the city at World Heritage meetings.
The City of Bath World Heritage Site Advisory Board oversees the production and implementation of the management plan. The Advisory Board usually meets three times a year to assess progress and decide on priorities. Priorities are based on the actions within the plan and on current issues and events in the World Heritage Site.
